Weekday Meditation on March 31, 2020
Dear Waldwick UMC Families and Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!
How’s your weekend?
I hope all of you had a great weekend and had a blessed time of worship service at your home.
Today, I want to share a short meditation on Bible verse and prayer with you.
“Behold, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs forth, do you not perceive it?
I will make a way in the wilderness
and rivers in the desert.”
< Isaiah 43:19 >
I know that this is an unprecedented, terrifying time. It is something like what I imagine the Israelites are going through as they leave their “normal” in Egypt and head out into the desert, having no idea when they would finally return to normal or to what they were promised.
Learn from the Israelites as we navigate through this time together- do not be so overcome by the fear and the anxiety that you forget who God is, and how God has led you all along.
This is a terrifying unknown for all of us, and yet God is still with us.
God will make a way where there seems like there is no way.
Trust in God- trust in the promises of God,
Let us pray.
Gracious God, help us when we worry and fret over the problems of yesterday or the concerns for tomorrow.
Direct our hearts, minds and actions in a way that leads to new life for ourselves and for your kingdom.
Lead us into the promised land, which is safe and blessed, and protect us from dangers and fears.
Especially be with those who are vulnerable, sick, and alone in our congregation.
Let them have a strong faith in you, and confidence that you are always with them.
In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen!
