God of love and judgment, when the Egyptians enslaved your people, your love set them free; when rulers oppress the poor and powerless, your judgment brings peace and justice to the land. Amen.

 The pastoral prayer  & The Lord’s prayer      

Gracious God, we come to You today in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

Lord, we are just beginning to get back into the “church year,” a time when our lives

settle down into a somewhat predictable pattern. Children are heading back to school,

college students to their studies, people to their work. And life goes on.

But have we overlooked how we are living that life?

Have we forgotten the many ways in which we have not been faithful to you?

You judge us and love us. You look at what we say and what we have done and ask us to

live lives of mercy and peace.

As you have forgiven us, help us be forgiving to others.

Let us bring peace and hope, keeping doors open for healing and redemption.

Lord, this morning we also bring many prayer concerns.

Hear our prayers and answer our prayers.

 

Please pray for Youth Ministry and those teenagers who are in our church and in the community: Timmy, Yuki, Christopher, Gavin, Eric, Daniel, Jessica, Jenny

 

Pray for all students and teachers who are going back to school.

 

Pray for those who are suffering from natural disasters such as wildfire in California, hurricane or storm in many places in USA and all over the world, and so many other natural disasters.

 

Keep praying for Charlotte and Gorden for their health and safety.

 

Keep praying for Dotty Tuck, Bob Fernands, Alida, Peter, Betty Gregory, Betty Johnson, Mary Mooy, June Wick, Joan Mefford, Roberta Lucy, and other elders who are in nursing homes or stay at home alone.

 

Keep praying for Dominic’s three daughters(Sarah, Lauren, and Alexa) and their families including two grandchildren, Charlotte and Elijah.

 

Keep praying for Laurie, and other doctors, nurses, and pray for David, members of Ambulance corps, and other healthcare workers in the community.

 

Keep praying for growing our church and Sunday School, and all church members including kids to stay healthy and safe, and have a strong faith in Jesus Christ our Lord!

 

O Lord, Heal our body and the Sprit through the power of the Holy Spirit,

 especially for those who need your healing touch, and strengthen them, encourage them

and give them a new life and hope in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior!

Let us know that You are always with us Lord, and bring us peace, love, justice, joy, and many blessings in our lives.

 

We pray all of these in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, who taught us to pray;

“Our Father who art in heaven.  Hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come. 

Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. 

And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen!

Scripture lesson               Exodus 12:1-14

1The Lord said to Moses and Aaron in Egypt, 2 “This month is to be for you the first month, the first month of your year. 3 Tell the whole community of Israel that on the tenth day of this month each man is to take a lamb[a] for his family, one for each household. 4 If any household is too small for a whole lamb, they must share one with their nearest neighbor, having taken into account the number of people there are. You are to determine the amount of lamb needed in accordance with what each person will eat. 5 The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats. 6 Take care of them until the fourteenth day of the month, when all the members of the community of Israel must slaughter them at twilight. 7 Then they are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs. 8 That same night they are to eat the meat roasted over the fire, along with bitter herbs, and bread made without yeast. 9 Do not eat the meat raw or boiled in water, but roast it over a fire—with the head, legs and internal organs. 10 Do not leave any of it till morning; if some is left till morning, you must burn it. 11 This is how you are to eat it: with your cloak tucked into your belt, your sandals on your feet and your staff in your hand. Eat it in haste; it is the Lord’s Passover.

12 “On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn of both people and animals, and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. 13 The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

14 “This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord—a lasting ordinance.
