OPENING PRAYER                                      IN UNISON
Visionary creator, give us your vision. Show us our hearts, our homes, our communities, and our world through your eyes. Wash away our blind spots, and help us to see where we do not see. Allow us to see creation as you see it now, and as you envision it to become. Help us realize your vision, and walk the road of life– the way and path of Jesus. Amen.

 AFFIRMATION OF FAITH                              UMH 881
Apostles’ Creed (Traditional Version)
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ his only Son, our Lord;
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, dead, and buried;*
the third day he rose from the dead;
he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic** church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
 THE PASTORAL PRAYER &THE LORD’S PRAYER
Gracious God, we come to You today in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and
Savior! This morning, we ask your help and cure for those who are suffering
from disease, illnesses, and especially coronavirus in our nation and all over the world.
O Lord, during Your ministry on Earth You showed Your power and caring by
healing people of all ages and stations of life from physical, mental, and spiritual
ailments. Be present now to people who need Your loving touch because of
COVID-19 and other illnesses. May they feel Your power of healing through the
care of doctors and nurses.
Take away the fear, anxiety, and feelings of isolation from people receiving treatment or under quarantine. Give them a sense of purpose in pursuing health and protecting others from exposure to the disease. Protect their families and friends and bring peace to all who love them.
Lord, we also pray for all our congregation members. Wherever they are, be with them, protect them, and bless them with your love and grace.
And, we pray for Emmett Johnson who passed away last week, and his family. Please give your consolation and peace to Betty Johnson, and her family, and let them feel your grace and mercy on them.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who taught us to pray;

“Our Father who art in heaven.  Hallowed be Thy name.  Thy kingdom come.
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen!

SCRIPTURE LESSON                             Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2     He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3     he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
